Scope: Removal and replacement of existing walk-in cooler with new reach-in refrigerator and freezer units. The work includes full demolition and disposal of current walk-in system, followed by installation of owner-provided reach-in refrigeration and freezer equipment.

Preparation: A vendor was dispatched for the initial visit.  During the site survey, we captured comprehensive photos of the unit, including overhead connections at the wall and floor transitions at the perimeter. These visuals allowed us to confirm whether FRP extends behind the unit and if flooring continues beneath it. We also obtained full-unit measurements to ensure accurate material ordering and project planning. DWM submitted a comprehensive proposal which was approved the very same day.

Execution: Materials were immediately ordered. The new refrigerator units arrived at the store. After communication with store management, the installation was scheduled 2 days later.  During demolition of the existing walk-in, unforeseen wall damage was discovered. Rather than allowing this to stall progress, our team quickly assessed the condition, communicated updates to all stakeholders, and developed a solution in real time. The damaged drywall was removed and replaced, creating a clean and stable surface for installation. While this added scope extended the timeline, the team maintained momentum and successfully completed the project limiting the downtime of the unit.

From planning through execution, our team adapts, communicates, and delivers, no matter what’s uncovered behind the walls. At the end of the day, when challenges show up uninvited… We’ll handle it.
