The DWM Construction & Renovation Division was awarded the renovation of the Florida Gulf Coast University Barnes & Noble College Bookstore project in May of 2021. Unexpectedly this project was split into (2) phases right before kick-off, going from a 3-week project to an 8-week project due to delays in the permitting process. DWM had to juggle various changes in the scope of work to accommodate the phasing schedule. The project itself consisted of demolition of several partition walls, construction of new partition walls, all-new fixtures, millwork, finishes, lighting, and decorative suspended ceiling fixtures.

General Scope:

  • Dispose of all associated existing wall and floor fixtures, millwork

  • Demo numerous partition walls

  • Furr out of existing columns

  • Installation of new carpet, luxury vinyl tile throughout

  • Installation of all new floor and wall fixtures

  • Installation of all new millwork

  • New paint throughout the entire store

  • Installation of new lighting throughout the entire store

  • Installation of new lounge area furniture for Social Hub complete with TV

  • Installation of new web-order pickup window to streamline online orders for customers

  • Installation of several decorative suspended ceiling fixtures throughout the store

  • Modifying existing fire suppression system to accommodate new ceiling fixtures

  • Installation of new decorative wall panels behind cash wrap on a feature wall
