LATHAM, NY - DWM Facilities Maintenance launched the Dare to Beat MS campaign earlier this month. The campaign is running in conjunction with the National MS Society Upstate New York Chapter’s Walk MS, to be held on May 21st in Troy, NY.
With many ties to Multiple Sclerosis, DWM named the MS Society as partner in giving in 2014. Since then, DWM Cares (the company’s charitable works team) has been committed to fighting MS through sponsoring mile markers at Walk MS, hosting multiple fundraising events, and various employee efforts.
In this year's Dare to Beat MS initiative, DWM employees are giving their technician network the opportunity to join the fight against MS in a very fun way!
For donations of varying amounts, DWM technicians can sponsor a dare to embarrass their favorite DWM employee. Dares range from $25 to pie a DWM employee in the face up to a $5,000 sponsorship to cut the pony tail off of one of their project managers. A full list of sponsorships can be seen below.
“I am proud of the collective efforts of our employees and their desire to volunteer time and effort toward helping others," said Brian Whitt, Chief Operating Officer. "DWM will continue to support these efforts financially and by encouraging volunteer participation throughout 2017."
"We are extremely excited to partner with our technicians in the fight against MS! Dare to Beat MS is a great chance for our technicians to pay us back for all of the late night calls and emergency work orders we send them out on," said Tracey Massaconi, Strategic Account Manager and DWM Cares committee member.
The funds raised from WalkMS champion awareness and research initiatives to help find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. DWM is committed to helping find a cure for its family, friends, and employees living with this debilitating disease.
The official Dare to Beat MS dare day will be held on May 5th at DWM's offices in Latham, NY and Orlando, FL.
